Manuafcture : Existing Warranties - BioDiesel is widely endorsed
A growing number of manufacturers endorse the use of biodiesel both in blend with mineral diesel and pure as a 100% biodiesel fuel. The biodiesel is produced to conform to pr EN 14214 the proposed European standard. In a 95% diesel / 5% biodiesel blend the fuel meets the existing EN 590 automotive fuels specification. Numerous engine manufacturers have already endorsed the use of a 95/5 mix.
The European diesel specification (EN 14214) includes up to 5% biodiesel and therefore any blend up to this level complies with the appropriate national fuel standards.
We advise anyone soliciting further details that for an accurate and up to date statement they should address their enquiry directly to the manufacturer in question.
Our information is based on information given to us by the Austrian Biofuels Institute in 2002 and on our own enquiries. It is extremely difficult to have a definitive list as manufacturers opinions vary over time, sometimes reversing previous endorsements and also to vary from country to country. The opinion is also specific to certain models and years and also sometimes to fuel made from a particular feedstock.
